What We Do
We deliver a range of fun, hands-on programs and events to the community by partnering with organisations such as:
Schools, children’s centres and youth organisations
Aged care providers.
We also offer food information and inspiration through our Facebook page.
Celebrating tasty food and fostering skills and enthusiasm for growing, cooking and sharing food are at the root of our programs.
They also help create vibrant, connected communities with better access to healthy food choices and increased skills in cooking.
Cook for Community
[Youth Centres in City of Onkaparinga]
These programs teach young people (aged 8-12) healthy eating principles whilst also cooking for those in need: St Vincents De Paul and Fred’s Van are the current charities these programs support.

Flexible learning Options (FLO)
This program works with young people attending FLO (an alternative schooling program) and provides basic food literacy skills.
Storytelling in Community Gardens

Delivered in partnership with the Onkaparinga Council and local storytellers, this program engages young families and provides opportunities for connection to these beautiful spaces whilst also making friends and tasting garden produce.

The Shared Table

The Shared Table is a social cooking program for people aged 65 years and older, delivered in partnership with the ECH and the Woodcroft Morphett Vale Neighborhood Centre.

Connecting Isolated and Marginalised Communities
[City of Onkaparinga / Adelaide]
In May 2019 we will be piloting a 4 week training course “Food Matters” where we unpack how the food system works and how we can move from being a food consumer to an active food citizen.
Courses will be run at Aldinga Library and Adelaide Sustainability Centre in the city.

A food rescue program, through which we create seasonal and delicious relishes, jams and sauces to be sold at various markets, to raise funds for the Food the freedom program and other charities.
